I support the One Church Plan because I really think we’re better together. It’s always been our Methodist witness throughout our history. When we spend ninety percent of our time and energy focusing on something that for most of our neighbors and the outside world around us is not even on their radar, when they’re concerned about hungry kids that don’t have enough food and are in the school system, unable to learn and behind in the education curve, when they’re trying to put food on the table, when it’s grandparents on fixed income raising kids, when they’re trying to figure out how to combat poverty in their lives, combat violence in their streets and neighborhoods. If our attention could be focused on that, I wonder what we could do better together. I think the One Church Plan allows us to remain united in our different contextual places.
